From October 30 to 31, 2009 Oil Drilling Engineering Symposium, China oil and Gas Forum of the World Petroleum Congress, was held in Beijing. At the oil drilling technology and equipment exhibition held at the same time, new drilling technology, new technology and new equipment of CNPC were presented. Wang Tao, director of the China National Committee of the World Petroleum Congress and former Minister of the Ministry of petroleum industry, pointed out that the R & D and manufacturing of drilling equipment in China have generally realized localization in an all-round way.

The conference was jointly sponsored by the state committee of the World Petroleum Congress, the Department of social development of the Ministry of science and technology of the people's Republic of China and the Chinese Petroleum Institute. The exhibition was organized by the science and Technology Management Department of CNPC and the China Petroleum Technology Development Corporation. Cao Jianlin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of science and technology of the people's Republic of China, Zeng Yukang, vice general manager of CNPC, director general of the Chinese Petroleum Institute and the China Science and technology division Jia Chengzao, academician of the college, Wang Daofu, chief geologist of CNPC, experts from world famous oil companies such as shell, Schlumberger and Halliburton, and more than 300 experts from CNPC, Sinopec, CNOOC, Sinochem Group, oil universities and drilling institutes attended the forum.

Drilling investment accounts for more than 50% of the total investment in oil exploration and development, which is the key factor affecting the overall efficiency of oil and gas exploration and development. At present, China has become a major oil drilling country in the world.

Wang Tao introduced that in recent years, through the integrated application of new technology and mature technology, China's drilling speed and efficiency increasing technology has developed rapidly, driving the overall speed of China's drilling to continuously improve. Especially in 2007, the 12000 meter large-scale drilling rig with independent intellectual property rights and its supporting equipment were successfully developed, and China has the capacity of 10000 meter ultra deep well drilling.

Wang Tao pointed out that in order to maintain the sustained and stable growth of oil and gas production in China's petroleum industry, it is necessary to march to the deep land and sea, and to the complex formation and low abundance and low permeability oil and gas formation, the production needs benefits, and drilling is the key to success. This requires the drilling engineering to adopt new technology, new materials and new methods to speed up the drilling speed, shorten the well construction period, reduce the cost, and expand the available range of oil and gas resources.

Cao Jianlin pointed out that China has always attached great importance to oil drilling engineering technology, especially the research and development of high-tech equipment at the front of drilling, and actively supported the construction of technological innovation system led by oil enterprises and combined production, learning and research. In the future, the Ministry of science and technology will, as always, further strengthen the research and development of advanced drilling technology and equipment, so as to make China's drilling engineering technology reach the world's advanced level as soon as possible.

Zeng Yukang said at the opening ceremony of the exhibition that China is a big manufacturing country in the world and the special equipment for oil drilling has developed rapidly in recent years. At present, CNPC Baoji Petroleum Machinery Co., Ltd., Beijing Petroleum Machinery Factory and other enterprises such as Hebei North China Petroleum Rongsheng Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. have become the world's largest suppliers of drilling rig, top drive device, blowout preventer and other products. The rapid development of oil drilling equipment, tools and instruments not only improves China's drilling capacity and level, but also improves the effect of exploration and development.
